Ford confirmed net income was heightened to $12.4 billion through value allowance elimination versus the benefits of deferred tax.

For 11 consecutive quarters, it managed to earn net profits worth $13.6 billion, equivalent to $3.40 per share. Based on the survey of Bloomberg, profit reached $0.20 per share straggling to $0.25 average estimate when one-time costs are excluded.

An analyst from S&P Capital IQ, Efraim Levy noted, “Although, gains were not as great in the past years, it was still another good firm and stable year.” Levy rated Ford as “buy.” He continued, “As it goes forward, it gets tougher.”

However, estimations of 14 analysts were not reached by the automaker company. They forecasted an average of $1.99 while the company only earned $1.51 per share, or $8.8 billion.

To continually maintain profitable quarter, Ford reveals its new slogan – “Go Further,” simple yet brings impact on its advertising campaigns that appeal to customers.

The new slogan replaces the one in Europe which says, “Feel The Difference” and in Unites States which tells “Drive One.”

However, the current slogan “One Ford” is still going to be used all over the world with variety of offerings in the global markets.

In New York Stock Exchange on early hours of Thursday trading, the car maker started at $12.12. Shares increased to 19% this year from its 36% downfall in 2011.

But rumors say she might consider staying in the government if Obama wins for the second term.

The employees of State Department have already been informed by Clinton about her ready to get rest. She is also not interested to all the debates of Republican presidential candidates. It seems that Clinton has grown tired after working as the First Lady, Senator, and US diplomat. She also once aspired as president of the state.

After a town hall meeting, Clinton affirmed her certainty that she will only stay until the president has nominated someone. After 20 years of being around the high wire of American politics, and after facing all the challenges that came with it, Clinton is certain how tired she is.

But Clinton is open to possible return eventually. She added that everyone who leaves this kind of job seems to say that more often.

On the other hand, Democratic Governor Beverly Perdue has surprised everyone with her decision to drop her campaign. But this seems to have benefited still President Obama.

The two have been running commercials in North Carolina State. In fact, the Democrats have repeatedly staked his success in North Carolina. Also, the nomination convention is set in Charlotte.

Political Science Professor John Dinan of Wake Forest University said the news was helpful for Obama instead of problematic. In fact, Perdue’s announcement will put Obama’s campaign with a stronger gubernatorial candidate on the ballot. Dinan said Perdue wasn’t that strong.

The world’s biggest bulb maker’s expenses are still tied to renovation and investment in factories for efficiency. These expenses still depend on earnings. To date, the Amsterdam-based company has reported their fourth-quarter revenue and full-year net losses. Despite the losses they have gone through, Philips remain firm and committed in reaching financial targets for 2013.

The Dutch company struggles along with other competitors like Siemens AG which tries to maintain profit despite the economic crisis in Europe. Frans van Houten, Chief Executive Officer of Philips confirmed that the earnings for this month dropped due to the diminishing demand for lighting products and health-care equipment. Another rival Munich-based Siemens is also having a hard time in achieving their goals as it continues to miss estimates for their quarterly profit.

An Amsterdam-based analyst Jos Versteeg said Philips did not do anything bad when it comes to sales growth but they need to work more on their margins to achieve targets.

Meanwhile, Mouser Electronics, Inc. has announced its plans to provide sponsorship for NASA In-flight Education Downlink created to inform ad at the same time entertain students.

The program designed by NASA is an innovative science event which gives fifth and sixth grade students enrolled in Asa Low Intermediate School in Mansfield ISD to communicate with astronauts of NASA who are on-board the International Space Station. The downlink is a live conversation between astronauts who are in space and students who will be able to ask questions through a video or an audio session.

The government is not ruling out any options to restructure the system.

During an interview at CBC News Network, Menzies stated that the government still needs to make sure that the system currently in place will be able to endure for a long time. In terms of retirement income and benefits, he said they will not change anything overnight.

As of now, the government are still looking at options which can be sustainable.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Canada’s retirement income system will also be seeing changes for the next few months.

Although Harper’s keynote speech at the World Economic Freedom is short, he mentions that Canada’s aging population indicates a challenge to the country’s programs and services in social aspect.

Harper also added that steps have already been taken to limit the expenses on healthcare. The same is being done for the retirement income system.

Meanwhile, Rob Lowe has predicted Peyton Manning’s retirement from Indianapolis. The news came from Lowe’s tweets on January 18. But Manning’s father also tweeted that he is certain that his son is not quitting from football.

According to many tweets, Lowe is a good insider of politics and sports but some people still think any statement from Rob Lowe is not worthy to believe in. A tweet confirms how he trust Lowe when it comes to news.

“@Rosenberg_Mike tweeted, “I won’t believe Rick Perry is dropping out of the race until I hear it from Rob Lowe.”

But an individual contradicts this by posting this:” @NotBillWalton tweeted this, “LOOK WHAT YOU DID, WIKIPEDIA!! Since you decided to blackout your site, the world is now turning to Rob Lowe for its information.”

According to travel experts, the rules which asked for airlines to include fees and taxes on the prices advertised on sites may cut off ticket sales as it scares passengers away from seeing the prices which look higher than before.

This new regulation is to provide airline passengers the exact price of their tickets when booking for their flight which will actually give travelers an unpleasant surprise.

The new rule by the U.S Transportation Department was recently implemented. This time, all airlines are mandated to include all taxes and fees in those advertised fees. Although some experts feel this would scare some passengers, editor of SmarterTravel.com, Anne Banas, this effect will only be temporary.

She said, at first consumers will be experiencing a sticker shock by seeing prices higher upfront. But then, soon enough, it will be easier for the compare prices with other airlines.

Spokesman for Air Transport Assn. Steve Lott, said basic economics state that when consumers believe a product or service price is higher, there is a high potential that the demand will fall eventually.

With the new rule, fees not included are optional fees for baggage, food, and on-board entertainment.

Meanwhile, Olympic organizers have given some travel device for people in London. “Be patient. Have a beer. Work from home.”

They have released an 8.8 million-pound campaign which persuades city residents to change their travel patterns to reduce the strains on public transport. The campaign is set to avoid transport chaos during the games on July 27- Aug 12.

Apparently, America is gradually recovering from recession over the past years and citizens are going to positive career paths.

The Department of Labor of United States released the job market data. It revealed that more Americans have been hired during the most recent months. Approximately, there were 243,000 new jobs within the previous month. The rate of jobless citizens now declined to 8.3% from 8.5% in December 2011. In August 2011, jobless rate was at 9.1%.

In December, employment grew from 200,000 to 203,000 up from November when there were 157,000 new jobs from 100,000.

Expert economists view this event as a good sign for America’s status quo yet they are open with the possibilities of mishaps and shortcomings in the middle of the year.

The biggest increase was in the field of hospitality and leisure, business services, professional levels and manufacturing.

Meanwhile, critical issues remained to be discussed in Greece’s negotiations with second international euro bailout which is pegged at billions. The finance minister of the country confirmed that bailout talks would stretch tentatively.

Evangelos Venizelos, Finance Minister of Greece said, “Few issues were resolved after several hours of continuous and sturdy negotiations of the new program with troika.” Troika is a group of debt inspectors from the International Monetary Fund, European Commission and European Central Bank.

A second bailout as well as the bond swap is needed by the country in order to recover from debt load and prevent further economic damages which are caused from the debt crisis in euro zone.

Coakley connections to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae" src="http://www.retirementplannings.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Gingrich-and-Atty.-Gen.-Coakley-connections-to-Freddie-Mac-and-Fannie-Mae-300x199.jpg" alt="Gingrich and Atty. Gen. Coakley connections to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae" width="300" height="199" />Newt Gingrich is currently facing several questions with regard to consultancy fees he received from Freddie Mac ever since he exited the Congress in 1999. According to The New York Times, the former speaker obtained over $1.6 million.

In addition, the publisher wrote that during his term as the House Leader in 1990s, he was involved in a series of issue with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. He had defended the two government housing industries against political assailants and had joined them in many projects of housing.

NY Times also added that when the Speaker departed from the Congress, he established apparent direct involvement with the two housing giants. His consultancy for a month contract with Freddie was reportedly worth $25,000. Another contract was signed by the former speaker as the company’s strategic adviser in 2006.

In line with this, Atty. Gen. Martha Coakley of Massachusetts is telling the housing companies to lessen loan loads especially for those homeowners who are in the midst of financial struggle. She is urging them to put great effort of preventing “unnecessary foreclosures.”

In a letter written by the Atty. Gen. to Edward DeMarco, Federal Housing Finance Agency’s Acting Director, she stated, “Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae should become the leader in the showground of modifying loan to best practices.” The letter was dated on the 2nd of February. She emphasized that companies must not only served best their personal interests but the economy and the public, as well.

Comments with regard to this matter are not yet provided by the representatives of housing companies. FHFA’s spokeswoman, Corrine Russell stated, “We received the letter. We will give our response soon.”

Matthew Burnell, an analyst from Wells Fargo, stated that through the period of January 2012 largest capital banks which executed positive performance are those that went through the most extreme instability on the previous year.

At the beginning of January, Dow increased 3 percent and draw conclusion at 12,632.91 points by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Index of KBW Bank went up to 8 percent, ended January at 42.57 after a dismissal on the previous year.

Regions Financial is also included on the list. Its shares went up to 24 percent and concluded the month of January at $5.22. It is known that the institution owes TARP or Troubled Assets Relief Program worth $3.5 billion funds in federal bailout.

Seemingly, it was a good start for Dow Jones as it impressed investors with 5 percent increase on its shares following its close at December with 12.217.56 points.

Despite the unceasing debt crisis in the euro zone and unstable economic conditions in United State, Dow Hone and other stock markets in the country was able to perform well all the way through January, IRA.com commented.

Aside from the above mentioned companies, Microsoft Corporation, Alcoa Incorporated and Caterpillar Incorporated also demonstrated affirmative financial output for the same period.

On the other hand, Procter & Gamble Company, Verizon Communications Incorporated and AT&T Incorporated have different fate as each received -5.91 percent, 5.68 percent, and -0.96 percent, respectively.

This was after several months of on-and-off negotiations; they have finally came up with a 4-year contract with each other.

The newest deal ends the doubts and hesitations of St. Louis patients especially those who are undergoing transplants and cancer therapies. These patients worry if they will still be able to continue with their treatment protocols or may need to be transferred to another hospital.

The two hospitals which are managed by Tenet Healthcare Corp. of Dallas, closed a managed care deal which fixes reimbursement rates and service terms with the health insurers.

With the new agreement, HealthLink and Anthem members will still be continually receiving “in-network” insurance coverage on medical care in hospitals like SLU, Des Peres, and other outpatient facilities.

Carol Britton, a Tenet spokeswoman, said they are glad to finally have a new contract where patients can receive constant care.

Meanwhile, an additional $100,000 was given to the community campaign to the North Penn United Way’s 2011-2012 from Harleysville Insurance. The campaign is entitled “Step-Up Challenge Match.” The said program gives current and new donors a chance to step-up their level to the United way.

The program also offers community leaders an opportunity of becoming the next Leadership or Tocqueville Society level within a three-year period. This also provides donors full membership benefits from the first year of contribution.

Visa will be joined by its rival MasterCard Inc. in thrusting merchants to improve their checkout systems to control high-tech credit and debit cards. These cards store information on a computer chip instead of a magnetic stripe which could speed up the adoption of the technology.

The technology is already used in other countries wherein banks have provided chip-enabled cards to their customers. This has lessened the fraud and has helped in meeting regional standards or country regulations. This it is yet to be undertaken in the US market.

The technology is followed by card-industry standards like EMV. It is considered to be more protected than using magnetic-stripe cards since costumer information are encrypted on the chip. It will be harder for hackers to get into.

In the past two years, US banks and credit unions have been issuing these cards especially to customers who go abroad. Retailers have stopped on upgrading their payment centers due to costs.

President of US market for MasterCard, Chris McWilton, said US has been surrounded by EMV just like an island in waters. He confirms that MasterCard remains to be the major market who has not adopted the EMV standard yet.

Meanwhile, Kristin Paget divulge on how credit cards can be read through wallets and clothes. During the Shmoocon hacker conference, Paget undeniably proved that hackers have known this for a long time. While the payment card industry has continuously denied. Paget presented how the RFID-enabled card can undetectably be stolen for fraud transactions.

Using a Vivotech RFID credit card reader which can be bought for $50 on eBay, a credit card from a volunteer onstage was read wirelessly. From that, the card’s number was obtained as well as its expiration date. The one-time CVV number used by nameless cards to check payments was also easily read. With another magnetizing tool which can be bought for $300 is used to encode the data on a blank card.
